The Health Center at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore is large enough for comfort and small enough to offer an atmosphere of warmth and professional caring. The Health Center is made up of 35 beds. There are both semi-private and private rooms.

The care in our Health Center is administered by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. The Medical Director monitors the residents and orders any changes that may need to be made to their care. The Resident Review Committee meets regularly to discuss care plans and communicate with family members.

Health Center residents have access to on-site speech, occupational and physical therapy and podiatry. Regular group and one-on-one activities are scheduled by our activities department.

In the Health Center at the Hermitage, each room has a large window, closet, half-bath, and a nurse call system. Residents may bring mementos, as well as their television and telephone.

You will find no special unit for Alzheimer/dementia residents at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore. We have found our residents benefit when maintained in the overall community life. Our excellent staff-to-resident ratio and the back-up of the WanderGuard System help to ensure the safety and well-being of all our residents, especially those with dementia.

All residents of the Hermitage, if able, are welcome to join events and activities throughout the community.
