Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock is a non-profit continuing care retirement community that offers apartments and services for seniors over the age of 62. We accept residents withou regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin or sex.

To become a resident, you need to submit an Application for Residence and a Confidential Financial Statement. There is no application fee or obligation on your part for applying.

When submitted, we will immediately review your application and financial statement. You will be contacted following the review, and your name will be placed on the waiting list.

We realize that everyone's situation is different so, when applying, please inform us of any personal requirements.

As soon as an apartment that suits your needs becomes available, we will notify you and make arrangements to show you the apartment. We ask that you make a decision in a reasonable period of time; however, you do have the privilege of waiting until another apartment becomes available.

When you choose to accept an apartment, we will give you a "Medical History and Physical Examination" form to be completed by your physician. After the medical report is returned to us, it is reviewed by our medical staff. We may request that you come in for an interview with other Hermitage staff members, after which a move-in date could be scheduled.
